Boating on Leech Lake
Leech is a great lake for boating - Walker Bay and the "big lake" have few shallow water hazards. However, some bays of the lake and the narrows between Walker Bay and the big lake are shallow (about 5' when water levels are good,
sometimes 4' or less.) The bottom is generally soft or
sand. Our harbor can usually accommodate boats with up to a
4' 6"' draft. The recommended draft on Leech Lake is 4' 6" or less. Boats drafting more than 4'
6" will occasionally have difficulties in the narrows and in
Shores harbor.
All docks at Shores have 30-amp shore power, and a water faucet. Dock rental includes use of the ramp, gyn pole, pump-out facility, full kitchen, shower facilities, and the swimming beach.
For power boats, some of Shores docks are covered. Shores monitors VHF channel 18.
Regarding types of watercraft or
horsepower, Leech Lake has no restrictions.

LLR.
