Shores is located on Walker Bay and the paved Heartland Bike Trail, just 2 1/2 miles north of Walker Minnesota. You can enjoy both beautiful Leech Lake in the Chippewa National Forest and the shops and dining in nearby Walker, Minnesota, population 1,069.
Shores welcomes all types of watercraft. Jet skis are welcome to base here, but must operate out on the lake - away from Shores. Leech is a big lake, enjoy it, be aware of your noise and wake. Sailboats always have the right-of-way.

Located in north central
Minnesota, in the Chippewa National Forest, Leech Lake is
112,835 acres. The lake's maximum depth is 202 feet.
Average depth is 14 feet. Leech offers big water,
but also many bays, narrows, and contour for fishing or
anchorages.
The lake primarily draws
fisherman; Muskie, Walleye, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike fishing here is
world-class.
For an inland lake, Leech Lake
is one-of-few in that thousands of acres have a minimum depth of
10'. Thousands of acres are also less than 10', but
sudden shallow water hazards are rare and well
marked. The bottom is almost always soft or sand.
Fishermen and boaters find
plenty to explore here. Most of the shoreline is
wilderness or summer homes. The lake offers many undeveloped
sand beach areas to explore. There are a few restaurants on the
lake serving local cuisine and cocktails.
Comfortable water temperatures
from June through September, natural sandy beaches and excellent
water quality make Leech Lake a perfect summer play ground.
